Hunters Journal Issue 14

The time between issue 13 and this one has been the strangest for me since starting the journal. While Josh, our Assistant Editor, has been holding down the fort and hunting on NZ soil, I’ve travelled through the United States, Australia and Finland. And for us, this time of year is actually the most difficult time to produce a magazine for some reason. The weather in spring is definitely hard to deal with and we don’t exactly have an archive of old content we can simply slot in. Each issue is like a recap of the best stories from the last few months. But at the same time, we’ve been getting Josh up to speed on how a magazine is made – which is hard when I’m still figuring it out for myself. He’s come from a builders background where he’s used to being handed some very clear plans that show you how to complete the project. Meanwhile working here, his only real instruction is to make something that’s entertaining for hunters. But with that goal, it’s opening some new ideas for us to explore on how we can make some more cool shit even outside of the magazine. So although I can’t say too much about our future plans yet, just know that we have some cool ideas in the pipeline. 

For now, sit back, grab a glass, cup, bottle or can of your favourite drink and enjoy what we’ve been up to over the last few months…
